A Dog’s Holiday Wish List

by Coach Lilly

Wondering what you should get your dog this year? Here are a few ideas, straight from Coach Lilly’s letter to the North Pole.

Dear Santa,

You read all letters sent to you at the North Pole, right? Even the ones from dogs? Christmas is coming up and I have a few things on my mind. I’ve tried hard to be a good dog this year. I might have gotten into trouble a few times—let’s all try to forget the ham sandwich incident—but I also did my best to protect my family and give them lots of love and snuggles.

Obviously, I already have the best present in the world, a loving family and a warm and safe home to live in, but in case you were wondering, there are a few gifts on my wish list too that I would love to see under the tree this year!

  1. I’ve got a lot of holiday party appearances to make this holiday season. I’m quite the social butterfly! I want to make sure my coat is looking shiny and smooth, so detangler, shampoo, and conditioner are all on my Holiday wish list this year. If I’m feeling clean and neat and groomed, I won’t even make too much of a fuss if my family tries to tie a big bow on my collar!
  2. Some people like ugly sweaters, but Santa, I’m sure you know that I am a serious sports fan, so for me my sweater of choice has got to be one that shows off my team pride! I have to say, these DoggieNation hoodies are especially cool!
  3. Santa, you get your cookies and milk, but a pet gets hungry too after a dog day’s work walking, playing, and cuddling. So don’t forget some treats for me! I’m not picky about whether they are store-bought or homemade, as long as they are delicious and all for me!
  4. Finally, toys. What’s Christmas without toys? I’m not too picky about toys either. I’ve had some memorable games of tug-of-war using an old sock for a rope, and I love playing fetch with old tennis balls too. But if you are feeling extra fancy, I’m sure you have some great dog toys at your workshop, and I wouldn’t growl no if you delivered any of those toys to my house this year!

Thanks for remembering me, Santa. I promise not to give you away with my barking when you come down the chimney on Christmas Eve!

Very sincerely yours,

Coach Lilly (signed with a pawprint)
